Timur is Of Counsel to Marks & Sokolov, where he assists with complex commercial litigation matters involving foreign and domestic clients. He has litigated cases defending enforcement of multi-billion-dollar foreign arbitration awards under the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT), including pursuant to the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act (FSIA) and the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (the New York Convention).

Timur has also litigated matters involving recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments in state and federal courts in New York and California. He has prior experience working on internal Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) investigations, auditing claims with the Gulf Coast Claims Facility in the aftermath of 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and prosecuting federal civil rights claims in state and federal court in Massachusetts.

Timur is admitted to practice in New York and Massachusetts, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of Massachusetts, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the First and Second Circuits. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts School of Law.
