Marks & Sokolov, LLC is pleased to announce that Kirill Ratnikov has joined the firm as Of Counsel. Kirill currently provides general counsel for the firm, bringing in his distinguished expertise in the representation of ultra high-net-worth individuals and their family offices, project financing, and Russian law experience pertinent to construction and real estate. He also brings to the firm his expertise in arbitrations and litigation (acted as an expert in a number of significant legal proceedings).
Kirill Ratnikov grew up in Moscow and earned his law degree from the law faculty of the Lomonosov Moscow State University (1996). He pursued post graduate studies and earned his Ph.D. from the Institute of State and Law of Russian Academy of Sciences (2002) and received his LL.M. degree from Yale University Law School (1999). Kirill serves as Professor at the Financial Academy and as Visiting Professor at MGIMO.
For more than 20 years, Kirill Ratnikov has worked at major US and UK headquartered international law firms (for eight years as a partner, head of M&A and project finance practices) before he joined Rosatom Overseas Inc. (State Corporation Rosatom) as Vice President responsible for legal support of project financed EPC construction projects of nuclear power plants in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, South-East Asia and India. During his career Kirill has worked on more than 100 M&A projects and on most significant infrastructure and oil and gas construction projects in the region.
Kirill Ratnikov is highly positioned in international and Russian legal rankings in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, construction, real estate and project finance/public private partnerships (PPPs) (first tier). He is also known for his work in Kazakhstan and the CIS. Kirill is a member of the Business Advisory Board on PPPs of UNECE.
